DFW Airport Terminal D Duty Free

Located between gates D22 and D23, on the secured side of the airport, the new $12M duty-free store serves as a visual welcome that draws travelers in and through the concourse. Totaling 17,400 square feet, the duty-free center showcases merchandise from the world’s most luxurious brands in an opulent environment that commands attention on its own, while simultaneously engaging visitors to explore the 3rd busiest airport in the world. The new Duty-Free Center is the largest and most technologically advanced duty-free store in the Western Hemisphere and was constructed in a federally secured, fully operational airport.

Over $2 million worth of digital displays, state-of-the art control systems, and interactive technology with multilingual content are included throughout the space with semi-circular “immersive promotional pods.” The store’s two levels can be accessed via two elevators and four staircases. Its mezzanine features 240-foot railings embedded with gold, silver and glass.

Due to significant field coordination issues, Azteca essentially redesigned the project during construction to maximize feasibility and constructability.
