Parkland Replacement Hospital
The New Parkland Hospital is a $1.27 billion healthcare facility which replaced the existing Parkland Memorial Hospital built in 1954. As a joint venture partner Azteca Enterprises, Inc. along with Austin Commercial, Balfour Beatty Construction, H.J. Russell & Company formed the BARA construction management team. Leveraging co-location, Parkland integrated the design and construction teams, working in a BIM and lean environment to optimize communication and planning among the project delivery team. The scope of this first phase included the 1.9 million-square-foot, 862-bed hospital with a construction cost in excess of $700 million. Parkland Hospital is registered with USGBC and is certified LEED Gold.
